Gordon Mizzi was born on the island of Malta
in 1947. He was educated in Malta, the United Kingdom, Italy and the U.S.A.
A graduate from the University of Leicester in England and the University of Southern California in the United States, he was inspired at an early age to play the classical guitar. Hailed by critics for his
gift for melodic invention and to the range of
influences in his compositions, he has composed a number of original works and transcriptions for the guitar, which are
performed throughout the world.

A number of diverse sources influence Gordon
Mizzi's musical canvas: from the Maltese
inspired Variations on a Maltese Theme and Two Anthem Studies, to the
Hispanic Tango and Habanera, to the European Madliena Sonata, Song of the Sea, Mazurka and Sonata for Six Mute Swans.
